How to Create a Connection in CloudMiner

CloudMiner supports two types of connections to your Oracle SaaS environment: Direct and SSO (Single Sign-On). Follow the steps below based on the connection type you need.

Note: SSO connections are not available for Trial users.

Setting Up a Direct Connection

  1. From the top-level application menu, go to Tools → Manage Connections.
  2. In the Manage Connections pop-up window, click New Connection.
  3. Enter the following connection details:
    • Connection Name: Any name you choose, without spaces.
    • Connection Type: Select Direct.
    • POD URL: Your Oracle SaaS POD URL (include everything up to .com).
  4. Click Apply to save the connection.
  5. Click OK to exit the Manage Connections window.

Connecting via a Direct Connection

  1. Open the New Connection pop-up window by pressing Ctrl + N, or go to Connections → New Connection from the top-level menu.
  2. Select Direct as the Connection Type.
  3. Choose your saved connection from the Connection dropdown and click Connect.
  4. Enter your username and password. The connection will be established.

Setting Up an SSO Connection (Not available for Trial)

  1. From the top-level application menu, go to Tools → Manage Connections.
  2. In the Manage Connections pop-up window, click New Connection.
  3. Enter the following connection details:
    • Connection Name: Any name you choose, without spaces.
    • Connection Type: Select SSO (Single Sign On).
    • POD URL: Your Oracle SaaS POD URL (include everything up to .com).
  4. Click Apply to save the connection.
  5. Click OK to exit the Manage Connections window.

Connecting via an SSO Connection (Not available for Trial)

  1. Open the New Connection pop-up window by pressing Ctrl + N, or go to Connections → New Connection from the top-level menu.
  2. Select SSO as the Connection Type.
  3. Choose your saved connection from the Connection dropdown and click Connect.
  4. A login window will open with your organization's POD login screen. Depending on your company's SSO configuration, this will either:
    • Show a Company Single Sign-On button, or
    • Take you directly to your company's SSO login page.
  5. Enter your SSO credentials to complete the connection.
